STATE AND TERRITORY SPOTLIGHTS
This section provides an overview of the level of crime victimisation, including experiences of multiple victimisation and reporting rates for selected crime types in each state and territory. Victimisation rates refer to the number of victims (persons or households) of a particular crime type expressed as a percentage of the relevant state or territory population.
Comparisons with national rates are also included where statistically significant differences exist.
Data relating to the involvement of alcohol or other substances in the most recent incident of physical or face-to-face threatened assault are only available for persons aged 18 years and over.
Due to the relatively small numbers of people experiencing robbery and sexual assault, data for these crime types have not been published at the state and territory level.
